What the Art Object Can Teach Us: Student Selected Works from Art 378

When: April 30 - May 31, 2009

Where: The Project Gallery

About the show

Students in the semester-long seminar, Art 378: What the Art Object Can Teach Us, have studied the stories and circumstances behind works of art: provenance, connoisseurship, value, conservation, materials, front and back, and a number of other considerations that enrich our understanding of an art object. Through the lens of one of these topics, students examined a specific work of art from the Art Center collection, then organized this exhibition to showcase both the works of art they chose and their own work in the class.
