From Manet to Picasso: Impressionist and Post-Impressionist Prints and Drawings

This exhibition, drawn primarily from the permanent collection, featured forty works on paper created by Impressionist and Post-Impressionist artists in the second half of the nineteenth century and the earliest years of the twentieth century. Prints and drawings ranging from the time of Edouard Manet to the young Pablo Picasso comprised this survey of works by some of the most well-known artists of the time. The illustrated catalogue by the exhibition's curator, Patricia Phagan, the Philip and Lynn Straus Curator of Prints and Drawings, includes an introduction, an essay focusing upon the intentions of these artists in using etching, lithography, pastel, and other graphic mediums, and a checklist of the exhibition.
